“Sometimes you break your heart in the right way, if you know what I mean.
    ― Gregory David Roberts, Shantaram

“Happiness and the absurd are two sons of the same earth. They are inseparable.
    ― Albert Camus

“The way I define happiness is being the creator of your experience, choosing to take pleasure in what you have, right now, regardless of the circumstances, while being the best you that you can be.
    ― Leo Babauta

“The belief that unhappiness is selfless and happiness is selfish is misguided. It's more selfless to act happy. It takes energy, generosity, and discipline to be unfailingly lighthearted, yet everyone takes the happy person for granted. No one is careful of his feelings or tries to keep his spirits high. He seems self-sufficient; he becomes a cushion for others. And because happiness seems unforced, that person usually gets no credit.
― Gretchen Rubin, The Happiness Project: Or Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun

“Nothing is miserable unless you think it so; and on the other hand, nothing brings happiness unless you are content with it.
― Boethius, The Consolation of Philosophy
  1. Pray for it. Go for it. Good luck.
  2. Have sex with a girl. Have sex with a boy. Then you will know. Of course, do it separately.
  3. First things first is you got to have friends. You must connect with people, and from there other connections will follow. Then have the attitude and the confidence to boot. Take the advice of others, but also know yourself well. Know your strengths and weaknesses. Last, just enjoy it.
  4. okie my love

  5. I am sure there are pro bono lawyers in both countries that will be willing to help you out. So that you can maximize your options. Also, if you and your dad have some assets in Russia like real properties, cars, etc. you can sell it first, or you can borrow or loan from relatives and have it as collateral. Since you are geared towards bringing him to the US, there is not enough reason to hold on to your properties in Russia.
  6. Then bring him to US. Can that be an option?
  7. I agree with your parents. You will be a whole lot safer with your grand parents. Enjoy them while they are still alive. See it as an opportunity to get to know them more and bond with them. You can't always have what you want. That is life. More so when it is not good for you. Like in your case.
  8. Either save it for a more important reason like tuition fee OR give it away to your parents specifically.
  9. Simplify, simplify, simplify. - Confucius

  10. ;-) Uhmn, not exactly weird. Perhaps obsessed, but does it matter? What matters is you pursue your passion slash dream - be it Journalism or Clark Kent and hopefully you will be fine.
  11. Grieve if you must then move on. Don't be too harsh on yourself. Nobody is perfect. Just try to do your best and you will be fine.
  12. Have you tried going to the Russian Embassy in America and see what they can advise you to do. Or you can do it also vice-versa. Ask advice in the US Embassy while you're in Russia visiting your dad. They are in authority to give you options or help and hopefully special considerations. Be strong and I wish you, your dad and family well.
  13. Go see a doctor ASAP. It might be an ear infection, something I had around two years ago, and it was indeed very painful. The inside of my left ear was totally swollen. Smaller doses of painkillers (Tramadol) won't work for me. I had to beg for a higher dose because the pain was just unbearable. It felt like my head was splitting in two. To heal the swollen ear, I had to take anti-biotics, and had to use ear drops. I was confined for a week, it was terrible and painful experience. So I suggest deal with this seriously and ASAP. Ears affect not only our hearing, but also our balance. Also, excessive cleaning of ears is not advisable really, ask your doctor about it.
  14. Reminds me of HBK of WWE. But she's a female. So you mean a toy girl. TooCoolForYou You are 19, so young and so free, so all I can say is just enjoy yourself, and do what makes you happy, even if that means being with her. Go for it. But don't do anything foolish that you will regret for the rest of your life.
